Take attendance at the door. Know who is missing before the period ends.
Blue Sail is for schools that already know their bell schedule. A student scans a barcode. The mark is present, tardy, or absent from that bell. Staff correct the exceptions.
Start a 30-day trial
One school. No student logins. No charge during the trial.
Set the bell
Day types, blocks, and a calendar. Present, tardy, and absent come from the clock in the school timezone, not the server.
Scan at the door
A tablet with a barcode scanner, or the camera if you do not have one. Students do not need accounts.
See the day
Teachers correct a mark. The office sees who is still missing. Patterns are the usual school rules, with a note for what you did next.
What the trial includes
- Daily report
- After the last scan window, email the office a list of absences and tardies.
- Live board
- Today’s classes refresh while the period is running. Pending means not scanned yet.
- Roles
- Admins run the school. Teachers run their classes. Office staff can see every class and cannot change the bell.
- Parent email
- When a student is flagged, a tardy or absence can email the parent. Nothing else does.
- The same site on a phone
- Correct a mark from a phone. Run the kiosk on a tablet. There is no app store version.
- Pattern lists
- Chronic absence around 10% of enrolled days, three days in a row, or the same period three times.
What it is not
- Not a student information system, and it does not sync with PowerSchool or anything like it.
- Not a native phone app.
- Not a model that guesses why a student is out. A pattern is a list, and the follow-up is a note you write.
